One product review : lime crime velvetines

Hi fairies,
I gave in and I bought the Lime Crime velvetines! I’ve been reading and hearing a lot about them, I’ve seen many swatches and it was hard to resist, I’m a woman , I’ve got my soft spots! I eventually purchased two of them, Wicked and Red Velvet, and today I’m going to tell you what I think about them!
Let’s see how they’re described: Ground-breaking formula that goes on liquid and dries completely matte. Touch-proof, transfer-proof, long-wearing and utterly addictive! Price 20.00 $ - 15.00 £ - 16.00 €.

My opinion

Texture: they are very thin and smooth, almost like a film on your lips, and it’s really easy to apply them because they glide on effortlessly; they are gel like I’d say , but after few minutes on your lips their texture changes and it becomes completely matte. The difference with other matte products is you will forget you put them on your lips, it’s like not wearing anything, they’re not sticky, not heavy , they don’t dry your lips, they are very very comfortable! They come with a sponge applicator that allows a neat application, and you have to be very careful and patient because any tiny mistake will look bigger than it is, it’s not a forgiving lip tint! Once it’s set the only way to fix any mistakes is to take it all off and start all over again, so I suggest you to take your time with this product!

Colour: I’ve got two colors, wicked and red velvet, one is a true bright red and the other one is a deep dark red with a bit of brown in it, a classic winter color. I wanted to buy Pink velvet but it was out of stock, that’s why I chose Wicked that is part of the latest collection that features a black velvet and Salem,a  gorgeous chestnut brown I was tempted to buy, but I didn’t because warm shades don’t suit me well in my opinion. Both colors I’ve got are very pigmented, you need one coat to cover your lips without patchy areas nor stripes: it’s not streaky at all and the color pay off is great! Once they’re set and their texture has changed to matte your lips will get a velvety finish that I really like , and the color doesn’t change at all, it’s bright and rich!

Lasting power: they are long lasting, around 6-8 hours without eating and drinking a coffee just, while if you have lunch and you don’t pay attention to it it’s going to fade and you will have to reapply it. They transfer when you drink or eat, not much but they do. I’ve got other lipsticks that last a bit longer than these ones, but they still last quite long. I think it’s worth putting up with a quick retouch after a meal considering how comfortable they are, you forget you’re wearing them and your lips will stay soft and moisturized!

My verdict: I like them, their texture is different from any other similar products, and so are the colors! They’re not for those who love subtle lips, these are fierce and bold, and they come in an unique formula that will surprise you for how comfortable it is, it’s light and super pigmented at the same time and it doesn’t dry your lips!

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,
