Products smackdown/prodotti a confronto : UD pressed pigment in thrash vs kiko infinity 260

Hi fairies,
Today I’m comparing two eyeshadows, one is in the Urban Decay Electric Palette and it’s called Thrash, the other one is Kiko infinity eyeshadow nr 260, and it’s in one of my customized Kiko palette. Infinity eyeshadows are sold in individual pans that fit into customizable palettes, basically you can build your own palette choosing from a three to a twenty four eyeshadow palette; here you can read my review about these gorgeous eyeshadows, I love them and I use them on a daily basis, they’ve got a great quality price ratio and they come in a wide color range! The electric palette, on the other hand, is my favorite palette, here you can read my review, all colors are vibrant, blendable, there’s not a lot of fall out and, most of all, it’s not the usual nude palette , there are so many on the market and they all look very similar to me! I don’t use nudes much, I love colors and when this palette came out I had to buy it the minute it was available!

Urban Decay Thrash

Color : it’ s an acid green with tiny golden sparkles in it,there’s a high percentage of yellow in it and the more you blend it the more it shows, it actually is a good transition color with warm toned greens in my opinion. It’s very pigmented , it’s not sheer and it’s a unique shade!

Texture: it’s a pressed pigment but the fall out is minimal, it’s not powdery and the texture is silky; I love all the pigments in the palette because it’s difficult to find such high quality when it comes to bright colors, but these ones are great! There’s no need to layer it to get full coverage, a little goes a long way, and you can skip using a sticky base ( even though I always do because it makes eyeshadows last longer), this pigment will stick to your lid and it won’t go all over your face! It doesn’t crease and it doesn’t set into fine lines, it’s extremely velvety, it doesn’t apply patchy at all!

Lasting power : it’s very long lasting, what I like the most is it stays vibrant for hours, it doesn’t fade away and the color doesn’t lose intensity! One of the best lime green I’ve ever tried!

Kiko infinity 260

Color : it is a lime green with fine golden sparkles in it, it’s got more of a cold undertone compared to thrash but it’s vibrant and pigmented nonetheless; the sparkles don’t show as much as they do in the pan once applied, but there is a bit of shine when the light hits it.

Texture : it’s a bit powdery, there is fall out when you apply it , that’s why I do my eye makeup first and I move on to my face makeup after wiping off the excess of my cheeks ; it’s velvety though, and it’s easy to blend , it doesn’t apply streaky nor patchy. When applied with a dense brush the color pay off is great , when applied with a blending brush it works well as a transition color.

Lasting power: I suggest to use it with a primer and a base to get the best performance out of this eyeshadow, this way it’s very long lasting, it doesn’t fade and it doesn’t crease; it can be used without a base , it’s a good quality eyeshadow, but of course the lasting power won’t be very long, it will be average, and the color won’t be as vibrant as it is when matched with a cream base.

Differences: thrash is lighter and more yellow, while kiko 260 has got a colder undertone, but the difference is not that big once you apply them; thrash works better as transition color because the texture is creamier and it blends really easy without any effort. Thrash has got almost zero fall out, which makes it easier to work with but you can work well with kiko one too, you just need to pay a bit more attention. None of them crease nor set into fine lines, they’re both pigmented and they last long, kiko eyeshadow can apply a bit patchy without an eye primer though. Is there a winner? In my opinion they’re both good and it’s worth having them both so there’s no winner! However, thrash can’t be purchased on its own, you have to buy the electric palette for 48.00 € to get it, while you can buy the single kiko eyeshadow pan and create your own palette or just add it to any of your z palettes or similar ones. If you’re looking for a low cost eyeshadow that performs well I would definitely recommend you to go for kiko infinity 260, you won’t regret it! If you love bright colors and you use them often I would suggest you to buy the electric palette because it is what any color lovers need in their life!

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,

XD
