august empties aka all good things come to an end

Hi fairies,
unfortunately I had to skip my monthly empties post last month due to some unexpected issues happening in my life, but this month I’m back! I finished lots of products last month and I feel so bummed I couldn’t post, but anyway this month my box was pretty full too!

As a skin moisturizer I used I Provenzali dry coconut oil parabens and silicons free and I loved it, it smells of coconut, it’s not greasy, it’s very hydrating and it comes with a pump that worked till the end! It’s perfect on the beach as well and I don’t think we could ask for more from a dry oil!

I tried Kiko anti age foundation for the first time and, all in all, I think it’s a good foundation that performs well on oily skin even in summer: it’s medium to high coverage, it doesn’t look cakey and it doesn’t  emphasize pores. I could see a little bit of shine in my T zone after 4-5 hours but temperature has been over 30 and this is not a mattyfing foundation so, to me, it worked well. The only thing I really don’t like it’s the smell: I’m not very sensitive to fragrances and, most of the time, I don’t mind strong ones but this one is really unpleasant and strong, I can feel it for few minutes after applying it. It’s hard to describe the smell, there’s a floral scent in it for sure and all in all I really don’t like it.

For my hair I used Garnier Fructis Hydra Liss oil, and it’s hydrating and not too greasy. I like that it comes with a pump, way easier to apply it this way, and it really helps getting rid of frizziness.

I also used L’oreal elvive hair oil because in summer my hair needs extra hydration to stay healthy and to keep frizziness at bay, and also because I wash it on a daily basis instead of every other day like I do in winter; this oil is one of my favourite because it’s very moisturizing but not greasy, it keeps my curls bouncy and shiny and it smells so good!

Another body care product I ran off (yes I know, I really use lots of body lotions and butters!) is from the brand I love… Mango & papaya , and the scent was awesome, it really smells like mango and papaya and it’s not an artificial scents! It’s moisturizing, not too thick, easy to apply and the smell is long lasting. It’s a  low cost product and it’s really worth trying it!

The Monoi tiki Tahiti tiare oil is just as good as the body butter I’ve just mentioned, it smells amazing and a little goes a long way; you can apply it on damp skin, just before getting out of the shower for deep hydration, and you’ll smell of tropical beaches all day long!

I’ve recently posted a full review on Kiko cleansing eyes & lips, where I said I loved it because it removes any kind of makeup, waterproof one included, very easily without leaving an oily layer on your skin. Here you can read my full review if you’re interested.

Here you can see two sunscreen tubes, one is with SPF 50 and the other one is with SPF 30, both are by Kiko, I’ve been using this brand for the last two years because their sunblocks aren’t expensive, I don’t break out, I love the consistency, they’re winners in my opinion! I apply sunblock all year round but in summer I apply it on my arms and legs too so I run out of it faster than usual.

I always have a Shea body butter jar on hand because I use it on my heels, elbows, my under eye area at night and as a deep conditioning mask for my hair once a month. I’ve just finished this one, bought online at naissance.co.uk , a great page for butters and oils!

august_2016_empties

This world of beauty oil really helped toning my skin, I’ve been impressed with it: I applied on my thighs and tummy every day after showering and, luckily, it wasn’t one of those oils with warming action, I hate them! This one was just a classic oil but it was very effective!

august_2016_empties

Last but not least there’s some makeup: my favourite summer setting powder, the balm sexy mama of course, here you can read my review. And two kiko lipsticks that actually melted and I had to get rid of them.

That’s it for this month, see you next month with more empties!

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,
