We all know about the hype surrounding contouring and highlighting, it’s been very popular in the last few years and some people take it too far in my opinion, but it’s undoubtedly true it can emphasize some spots and it can change the whole face shape when it’s done professionally; it’s also true few people have got the skills and time to do it on a regular basis, but a slight contour and highlight is something we all can try , and that’s where palettes like the one I’m talking about today come in handy!

Let’s see how it’s described: To the right there are corrective shades : lavender gives your skin brightness and it’s perfect for skins with a yellow undertone;

Green will cover up redness ;

Orange is perfect to cover up dark circles with blue undertone;

White is a great highlighter for fair complexions, a good eye shadow base to make colors pop and it can be used to further define your lips’ edges;

Yellow is perfect to cover up dark circles with purple undertone;

Pink works well with dark circles with a brownish undertone and it also makes skin glow;

Brown is a perfect match for dark complexions and for contouring. Price 19.00 €.

What I like : I like palettes like these one because you’ve got many different shades that can be mixed and matched to create the perfect one for your skin tone, and that’s definitely a plus, we know how expensive some concealers are and we don’t or can’t always spend a fortune ! this palette features 20 different shades, from light ones to dark ones, from orange ones to pink ones, so you’ve got concealers to cover up dark circles, you’ve got green one to neutralize redness, there’s a white one that can be mixed with others to lighten them up or it can be used as highlighter, basically it’s a complete palette! The consistency is creamy but it’s not too hard, it’s quite easy to work with them and  , in case you find them a bit too hard , press them on with your fingers: they will soften up immediately! They’ve got a thick texture that makes them perfect to cover up imperfections, and you can also use them as full coverage foundation if you apply them with a damp cosmetic sponge like beauty blender or similar ones; you can build the coverage up , the more your sponge is damp the less coverage you’ll get. their lasting power is good, they don’t smudge if you fix them with setting powder, they last pretty much all day.I love how versatile they are and how many combos I can create with them, this is a great palette to travel with as it’s slim and you won’t need lots of room to take it with you!

What I don’t like : when you’ve got 20 concealer shades you’ll end up to use some more than others, and you’ll probably get rid of the palette when there are those two or three shades that don’t match your skin tone left, so there is a waste of product; all in all though, it’s still a good bargain compared to other concealers’ price. The thick consistency doesn’t make them work too well as under eye concealers, they set into fine lines and they crease a bit, at least on me, so I use them on the rest of my face .

My verdict: I’m a fan of these kind of palette, I use them for contouring and highlighting and I think quality price ratio is good, I love having so many shades available and mixing and matching them! I highly recommend it for beginners and for anyone who wants to experiment with contouring and highlighting without spending a fortune!

Sappiamo quanto siano diventati popolari il contouring e l’highlighting negli ultimi anni, e onestamente in alcuni casi si esagera anche con lo scolpire e l’illuminare, ma non si può negare che queste tecniche , quando sono eseguite in modo professionale, permettono di enfatizzare alcune parti del volto e di modificarne la forma; è pure vero però, che poche persone hanno la tecnica e il tempo di dedicarcisi ogni giorno, ma si può provare a realizzarli in modo leggero e delicato, ed ecco che in questo caso ci vengono in aiuto palette come quella di cui vi parlo oggi!

vediamo come viene descritta: Sulla destra della palette ci sono le tonalità correttive:

il lilla dà molta luminosità all’incarnato ed è perfetto per chi ha la pelle con sottotono giallo:

il verde è adatto per coprire i rossori;

l’arancio corregge le occhiaie tendenti al blu;

il bianco è ottimo come illuminante, come base per rendere più vibranti gli ombretti , e per correggere i contorni delle labbra;

il giallo corregge le occhiaie tendenti al viola;

il rosa è adatto per correggere le occhiaie che tendono al marrone, e serve anche per dare luminosità alla pelle;

il marrone è adatto a carnagioni scure ed è ideale per il contouring. Prezzo 19.00 €.

Cosa mi piace: mi piacciono le palette di questo tipo perché mi permettono di avere tante diverse tonalità che si possono mischiare tra loro per creare un colore personalizzato, caratteristica decisamente positiva se pensiamo a quanto siano cari alcuni correttori, e non sempre vogliamo o possiamo spendere una fortuna! In questa palette ci sono 20 correttori, con colori che vanno dai più chiari ai più scuri, da toni aranciati a toni rosati che vi permettono di correggere le occhiaie, al verde che neutralizza i rossori, al bianco che può essere mischiato con gli altri per schiarirli o può essere usato come illuminante, insomma è una palette completa! La consistenza dei prodotti è cremosa ma non troppo, sono facili da stendere e, nel caso li trovaste un po’ troppo duri, picchiettateli con le dita e vedrete che il loro calore li ammorbidirà immediatamente! Hanno una grana spessa che li rende perfetti per coprire le imperfezioni, e si possono perfino usare come fondotinta coprenti, basta applicarli con una spugnetta cosmetica, come la beauty blender e simili, umida : potete modulare la copertura, più la spugnetta è bagnata, più leggera sarà la copertura. La durata è buona, una volta fissati con una cipria resistono praticamente tutto il giorno e non si muovono. Mi piace la versatilità della palette che mi permette di creare infinite combinazioni, e la trovo comodissima da portare in viaggio perché occupa poco spazio!

Cosa non mi piace: quando si ha una palette con 20 correttori si tende , inevitabilmente, ad usarne alcuni più di altri, e si finisce col buttarla quando ci sono due o tre colori rimasti , che sono quelli che proprio non si abbinano alla nostra carnagione, quindi c’è uno spreco di prodotto; tutto sommato però, essendo economica, è comunque conveniente comprarla. La loro consistenza pastosa non li rende adatti come correttori da usare nella zona del contorno occhi, almeno per quanto mi riguarda, perché si infilano nelle pieghette , quindi li uso sul resto del viso.

Il mio verdetto: mi trovo bene con questo tipo di palette, le uso per scolpire e illuminare e ritengo che abbiano un ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo, adoro avere a disposizione tante tonalità diverse e poterle mischiare a mio piacimento! Le consiglio a chi è alle prime armi e a chi vuole sperimentare col contouring e l’highlighting senza spendere una fortuna!
