One product review: Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics tinted moisturizer

Today we’re talking about a tinted moisturizer I was very curious to try, especially after being so impressed with OCC pigments and lip tars’ quality! I love my MAC studio fix fluid foundation, but that doesn’t mean I sometimes feel adventurous and I buy new products to find out if they are as good as my favourite foundation!

Let’s see how it’s described: A high-opacity, adjustable-coverage tinted moisturizer. Featuring a unique moisturizing complex made from purified water, coconut, and wild berry extracts, this foundation product nourishes as well as hydrates skin. Formulated from the finest vegan ingredients available, this product is also formulated with aloe leaf extract and vitamin E for coverage that feels as good as it looks.

Free of: Parabens - Sulfates - Phthalates - Oil - Silicone – Petroleum. Price 29.50 $ for 30 ml -1 oz.

What I like : it’s got low coverage as it’s a tinted moisturizer, and it’s good for a very natural, every day look, when you don’t want to look like you’re wearing foundation but you’re still wearing it, if you know what I mean! It is vegan and it’s a product you should try if your skin is sensitive and it reacts to most foundations. It is extremely light weight with a liquid consistency, it applies easily and there’s no need to buff it in for few minutes like most foundations, this one sets in few seconds. It doesn’t set into fine lines and pores , it’s like a sheer film on your face but you won’t feel it, it’s like not wearing anything at all! When set with a powder it lasts long, around 6-7 hours, which is a good result if you think it’s not a foundation but a tinted moisturizer.

What I don’t like: I haven’t got spots, imperfections or uneven skin so I don’t need a high coverage foundation, I do like high coverage but it’s a matter of personal preference and not something I need; this tinted moisturizer doesn’t do what I look for, it doesn’t cover anything, not even freckles, it just even my skin out a tiny bit but the difference between my bare skin and my skin with this product on is minimal and, in my opinion, it makes it not worth buying it. I have to heavily conceal to get a decent coverage, and I would get the same result by using concealer just ;  it looks best when applied with a stippling brush, I tried using my beauty blender and it just vanished on my skin. I got freckles around my eyes and on my cheekbones and this product does nothing to cover them. It doesn’t feel nourishing , and I’ve got oily skin so I imagine it feels even worse on dry skin.

My verdict: I won’t repurchase it, I’m using it as a base under my foundation and rarely on its own, I don’t like it because it’s too sheer for my taste, it doesn’t cover my light freckles, it basically looks like you’re not wearing any foundation so I’d rather save 29.50 $ and not wear any if that’s the result! I want my skin to look flawless , this is definitely not the right product for me, it could be the right one if you don’t like to have much coverage.

Oggi parliamo di un idratante colorato che ero molto curiosa di provare, specialmente dopo essere rimasta così tanto colpita dalla qualità dei pigmenti e dei lip tar della OCC! Il mio fondotinta preferito è il MAC studio fix fluid, ma a volte mi viene voglia di provare nuovi prodotti e vedere se reggono il confronto con lui!

Vediamo come viene descritto il prodotto: un idratante colorato ad alta opacità e dalla copertura modulabile. Arricchito da un complesso idratante unico, formulato con acqua distillata, noce di cocco,estratti di frutti di bosco, è un prodotto che non solo uniforma l’incarnato, ma lo idrata anche. Formulato con i migliori ingredienti vegani disponibili, al suo interno trovate estratto di foglie di aloe vera e vitamina E per una copertura molto confortevole e un effetto estremamente naturale. Senza parabeni, ftalati, siliconi, oil free, solfati e paraffina. Prezzo 29.50 $ per 30 ml – 1oz.

Cosa mi piace: la copertura è bassa dal momento che si tratta di una tinta colorata, e va bene per chi ama un look naturale , per tutti i giorni, un look che dà l’idea di non indossare nulla sulla pelle , un trucco che c’è ma non si vede per intenderci! È un prodotto vegano, adatto a chi ha la pelle sensibile che reagisce ad alcuni dei componenti presenti nella maggior parte dei fondotinta. Ha una consistenza molto leggera e liquida, si applica e si stende facilmente, non c’è bisogno di lavorarlo con un pennello per diversi minuti, si assorbe in pochi secondi. Non enfatizza i pori e le rughette, la sensazione visiva è quella di una pellicola sottile sulla pelle , che però non si sente assolutamente, è proprio come avere la pelle nuda! Una volta fissato con una polvere viso ha una buona durata, circa 6-7 ore, che a mio parere è un buon risultato se pensiamo che si tratta di una tinta colorata e non di un fondotinta.

Cosa non mi piace: io non ho macchie, discromie o imperfezioni, la mia pelle è uniforme e non ho bisogno di un prodotto con una copertura alta, scelgo quest’ultima semplicemente perché è quella che prediligo, non per necessità; questo prodotto decisamente non fa quello che io cerco in una base viso, la copertura è quasi nulla, non copre nemmeno le lentiggini e la differenza tra quando lo applico e quando non lo applico è talmente minima che, secondo me, non vale la pena comprarlo. Devo usare molto correttore per ottenere una copertura media che inizi a soddisfarmi, e obiettivamente otterrei lo stesso risultato anche senza aver prima applicato il tinted moisturizer; ho delle lentiggini appena sopra gli zigomi , e non vengono nemmeno attenuate da questo prodotto. Non mi sembra nemmeno particolarmente idratante, ed io ho la pelle grassa, immagino quindi come possa risultare sulla pelle secca.

Il mio verdetto: non lo ricomprerò, lo sto usando come base per il fondotinta e, raramente, da solo, ma non mi piace, è troppo trasparente e leggero per i miei gusti, la coprenza è inesistente, non copre nemmeno le lentiggini come ho detto, il risultato che ottenete è lo stesso di quando non applicate nessun prodotto, quindi non vedo perché spendere 30 $, a questo punto non metto niente e ho anche risparmiato! Io voglio che la mia pelle risulti perfetta e voglio una coprenza elevata, questo non è decisamente un prodotto che fa al caso mio, potrebbe forse andar bene per chi vuole una copertura molto bassa.
