One product review urban decay moondust palette

Hi fairies,
This is the best purchase of the year as far as I’m concerned, I’d been waiting for this palette to be available because I knew I would have loved it and, as soon as it was out I bought it!
I didn’t have any moondust eyeshadows, so this palette was a must have for me!

Let’s see how it’s described: Sexy, twinkling sparkle with a ton of depth and movement. Get ready to send your glitter addiction into overdrive with eight otherworldly NEW shades of planet Earth’s sparkliest shadow in our first-ever Moondust Eyeshadow Palette.

Found exclusively in this anniversary palette, our most vibrant Moondust shades yet will stoke your deep love affair with sparkle. Each shadow is dazzlingly sparkly, but with a super-refined, incredibly sophisticated feel (and not a single speck of chunky glitter). We lace every shade of Moondust Eyeshadow with microfine bits of sparkle and lush 3-D metallics—for a luxurious, diamond-like effect.

Moondust has been our most-requested palette ever since we first launched this amazing formula. And this palette takes the vibrancy of Moondust to the next level. Experiment with never-before-seen shades like Lightyear (a vivid, saturated green) and Galaxy (the perfect smoky, sparkly blue-gray).

We went all out on the sparkly gunmetal case. As mesmerizing as the shades inside, it features a mirrored cutout “Moondust” logo. A full-size mirror makes it easy to indulge your glitter obsession on the go.

What you get:

Specter (soft pink w/tonal sparkle), Element (peach w/pink shift and sparkle), Magnetic (purple w/blue sparkle), Lightyear (vibrant green w/tonal sparkle), Granite (black w/multicolored sparkle), Lithium (brown w/iridescent 3-D sparkle), Vega (bright blue w/tonal sparkle), and Galaxy (smoky blue-gray w/iridescent 3-D sparkle). Price 49.00 €.

I’ll tell you my first impression on the palette because I ‘ve bought it two weeks ago and I’ve used it but not enough to write a full review.
I really love this palette, I can tell you that! The packaging is beautiful, it comes in a charcoal grey color with the word “Moondust” embedded on it, it’s the same size as the Electric Palette so it’s travel friendly, not bulky and not heavy. There are eight eyeshadow pans inside, all of them very sparkly and glittery because they are pressed pigments with glitters! If you don’t like glitters and sparkles this is not the palette for you but if you, like me, love sparkles, you’re going to love it! I love the color range as there are more cold than warm shades, and they go from light shades like the peach eyeshadow, specter, to dark ones like galaxy.

I read the pigmentation was poor but I found it’s not true: even the ligthest shade, specter, has got a fair pigmentation to it, all of them have a good color base and they’re all packed with glitters. The texture is buttery and there’s not a lot of fall out when you swatch them. They can be applied wet or dry, in both cases I strongly recommend to apply them on top of an eyeshadow base so they can stick on it and last longer. As we’re talking about pressed pigments packed with glitters, the best way to get a good color pay off is to pat them on and not to swipe the brush back and forth, if you do that you’ll get glitters fall out and colors will look washed out.

I can’t deny there is a bit of glitters fall out after few hours, but using them wet and with a cream base helps a lot. It’s not a complete palette because all eight eyeshadows are glittery, there isn’t a transition shade nor a highlighter shade, you’ll definitely need to pair it with two more eyeshadows or with another palette to do your eye makeup, but I don’t mind that because these colors are gorgeous, vibrant and sparkly just the way I like it!
Would I repurchase it? Heck, yes, it’s right up my alley, it’s unique and it’s not easy to find glittery and vibrant shades like these ones!
Would I recommend it? Only to people who aren’t afraid of bright colors, who love glitters and who don’t mind using more than one palette for one look.

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,

vediamo come viene descritta:
