Eye makeup look clear water

Hi fairies,
I love the color of clear water, so fresh and bright and I love using it on my lids! It’s perfect in spring and summer and it really complements my skin tone, so today I went for it! I first applied a light blue creamy base to make eyeshadows pop, and then I used a fluffy brush to apply a frosty light blue as transition color; I blended it very well and I added a tiny bit of aqua eyeshadow around the edges to create a nice gradient. On my lid I used a more intense aqua eyeshadow, and under my browbone I applied a white eyeshadow with a blue shift to it. I completed the look with a winged liner and some mascara, and that was it, I hope you like it!

Hi fairies,

One product review nyx primal colors eyeshadows

Hi fairies,
I love bright colors so when I saw nyx primal colors I had to try one! I picked the purple one because it’s not easy to find a good matte cold purple and I wanted to give this one a try; they come in bright shades, not for the faint of heart but for those who loves experimenting with makeup.  Let’s see how they’re described: Unleash your inner theatrical makeup artist with these incredible pressed pigments. Creates a variety of special effects with the ultimate staying power. Price 7.00 $.

What I like: the pan is quite big so you get lots of product at an affordable price. The one I have is a bit powdery but not more than most matte eyeshadows I’ve tried, and there’s not a lot of fall out while working with it. The color is beautiful, pigmented and vibrant in the pan, it’s really easy to blend which surprised me, it’s not patchy on the lid but I find that it pops out more with a creamy colored base. It doesn’t fade away during the day and it doesn’t crease.

What I don’t like: the packaging is quite cheap but it was to be expected as they are really inexpensive. If you don’t like bright and colourful makeup looks you won’t use them much. It needs to be layered to get a really intense pay off but, when you do, it looks stunning!

My verdict: I recommend it if you’re into fun and colourful shades, it’s a good matte eyeshadow!

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,

Cute heart nail art

Hi fairies,
This is a very easy and quick nail art , I really like it and I hope you do too! You can do it on long or short nails, it looks good on both, and you can choose any colors you like! I went for a grey  with blue undertone,so I first applied two coats of a nude nail polish on all my nails and then I did a grey French mani. With the same grey I drew a heart in the middle of each nail, coming out of the French mani; drawing a heart is easy, just place two dots close to each other and then draw two lines going down sideways, and you’re done! I added some white dots on both side of each heart, and that’s it, I hope you like it!

Ciao fatine,

One product review Becca antifatigue under eye primer

Hi fairies,
This is the first Becca product I’ve purchased, I decided not to buy one of their famous highlighter because I own so many I’d like to finish some before adding new ones. I didn’t have any similar products and I was very curious about it, so let’s see how it’s described: A cooling anti-fatigue under eye primer that preps the skin for smooth makeup application. Price 32.00 $ for 0.13 oz/3.7g.

what I like: the price is not too high in my opinion if you think it’s a high end product and a little bit goes a long way. It’s got a very smooth texture, you pat it in your under eye area before applying foundation and concealer. It’s got a cooling effect that’s really pleasant in spring and summer, it evens out the skin and it fills in fine lines so it does what it claims, it smoothens the under eye area and it minimizes fine lines. Concealer and foundation go on smoothly without patches and without clinging to it. I set it with Becca setting powder and it lasts all day giving my under eye area a fresh and rested appearance, I love it, it really works! I like the packaging, it’s slim and compact and easy to open and close.

becca_antifatigue_under_eyeprimer_review

What I don’t like: I said I don’t think the price is high for what you get, but it’s not cheap either and for some people it might be too expensive. There are low cost under eye primers but I don’t know if they work like this one, if you have tried any let me know!

My verdict: I will repurchase it, it does what it says and it helps get rid of fine lines, it’s a really good product!

becca_antifatigue_under_eyeprimer_review

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,

eye makeup look Los Angeles sunset

Hi fairies,
This look is inspired by a Los Angeles sunset, a really stunning one I saw once I was there ! I started by applying a matte peach eyeshadow in my crease with a fluffy blending brush as transition color, and then I added an orange eyeshadow to give more depth to the crease and I blended it very well. I then applied a dark blue creamy base on my lid and I defined my crease a bit more and, on top of that, I patted a shimmery peacock blue eyeshadow. I added a bit more of orange in the crease to get the vibrancy I was going for. In the inner corner I placed a matte yellow eyeshadow, and I completed the look with a winged liner and mascara, and that was it, I hope you like it!

Ciao fatine,

One product review revlon colorstay foundation combo/oily skin

Hi fairies,
I’m a sucker for matte foundations, that’s why I had to try Revlon one! I was late, as usual, but I eventually gave in because too many people loved it, I couldn’t bear not to know if it was good or bad for my skin! It’s available in two versions,  for normal/dry skin and for combo/oily skin, which is the one I picked.

let’s see how it’s described: America’s #1 foundation*, now with a mess-free pump and SPF protection. In 35 shades for every skin tone and type. Flawless, matte coverage that lasts up to 24 hours. Comfortable, lightweight formula specifically made for combination or oily skin to control oil absorption and shine. Price 6.00 $ - 8.00 € for 30 ml.

revlon_colorstaay_foundation_combooily

What I like : I’ve been very impressed with this foundation because it performs really good to be low cost, to me it’s comparable to Mac Studio Fix Fluid, which is my holy grail foundation. It’s full coverage but it’s not cakey, it’s definitely visible though but l like it!it’s buildable and when applied with a beauty blender it looks more natural. The texture is not too runny but not too thick. The finish is matte but not flat. It doesn’t set into fine lines and it doesn’t emphasize pores. I set it with translucent powder but it could be worn on its own, it’s a matter of personal preference. Lasting power is medium. It gives a flawless look to my face but it starts to look cakey after about 5 hours.

What I don’t like: now it comes with a pump but the first one I purchased came in a bottle without a pump and it’s not easy to get the product out when there’s not much of it inside, just like mac studio fix fluid. What l don’t like is that it doesn’t keep shine at bay too long, l get oily in my t-zone after a while.

My verdict: it’s a good low cost foundation if you’re looking for full coverage and you like matte finish. It’s not super effective at keeping shine at bay, but it works for a good 4-5 hours so I recommend it if you don’t want to go for a high end product but you still want your skin to look matte.

revlon_colorstaay_foundation_combooily

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,

Eye makeup look kris jenner inspired

Hi fairies,
Even though I don’t follow the Kardashians-Jenner shenanigans I have to admit they are trend setters, and some of their makeup looks are very wearable and flattering, that’s why I decided to go for a Kris Jenner inspired makeup! It’s a warm tone look, perfect for any seasons and for almost all skin tone, I hope you’ll like it!
I started by blending a peach eyeshadow in my crease, and I added a tangerine eyeshadow on top to make it more vibrant; in the outer corner I applied a matte taupe eyeshadow and I brought it up in the outer part of my crease as well. With a chocolate brown I defined the outer corner a bit more. On my lid I applied a shimmery champagne color and I blended out the edges into the peach that was already in my crease; in the center of my lid I patted a shimmery rose gold pigment. I completed the look with winged liner and mascara, and that was it!

Ciao fatine,

One product review w7 mini beauty blenders (power puffs)

Hi fairies,
I think we’ve all heard about beauty blender and we’ve all tried the original one or a dupe, the hype was too high not to! I have to say I like applying some foundations with my beauty blender because it’s easy, fast, it blends the product well and it gives a natural look, not cakey at all. When they launched mini beauty blenders I wanted to buy them to apply concealer, I thought maybe they would help it not to set into fine lines, but I decided to try a dupe first and, if it worked, I would have bought the original one.
W7 is a low cost brand sold by Maquillalia, their beauty blenders are called power puffs and they are very cheap, so I bought them!
·         This is how they’re described: W7 Power Puff blender offers a fuss-free way to achieve a professional finish
·         The mini tear drop shape makes application foolproof by allowing you to access hard-to-reach areas with stunning ease

What I like : the egg shape is perfect to reach any nook and crannies in the under eye area, they’re the right size to apply concealer, 4cm, and their weight is 4 g. they don’t absorb too much product, they are easy to use and they distribute the concealer evenly without streaks nor patches. I use them wet for a more defused and ‘airbrushed’ result, but they can be used dry as well. I’ve noticed they prevent the product to set into fine lines, because they apply a thin layer of product. They don’t interfere with lasting power.

What I don’t like: they started breaking really fast, in a couple of months! I know they are very cheap and I couldn’t expect a high quality sponge, but I was surprised they broke so fast. That’s the only downside of these sponges, of course they can be replaced without spending a fortune, it’s still less expensive than buying a beauty blender but, on the long run, maybe it would be better to invest in the original product, especially if we use them on a regular basis.

My verdict: I like how they work and how they apply concealer, but quality isn’t good at all, they don’t last long!

Italian version:

Ciao fatine,
ecco come vengono descritte: W7 Power Puff blender permettono di ottenere una finitura professionale in modo semplice;

eye makeup look baby blue galore

Hi fairies,
I started this look by applying an eyeshadow primer and a baby blue cream base because I wanted the colors to be very bright and intense. With a fluffy brush I applied a matte beige eyeshadow in my crease, followed by a matte chocolate brown to give depth to the look; in the middle of my lid I packed on a bright baby blue, and on the inner and outer corner I placed a sky blue and I blended where the two colors met. I also blended the sky blue in the lower half of my crease without covering the brown completely.  I smoked the sky blue on my lower lashline as well, and I completed the look with a winged liner and some mascara, and that was it, I hope you like it!
