Christmas nail art there's an elf out there!

It’s starting to feel a lot like Christmas and I’m so excited as I really love holiday season! Do you love it or are you more like the Grinch?

The first Christmas nail art I’ll show you is super simple, super festive and super cute and I hope you’ll like it! I painted all my nails with a sparkly red nail polish but my ring finger where I applied  a white nail polish. On the red background I painted snowy ground at the tip of my nails using a dotting tool, and then I added snow flakes falling. On my ring finger I painted elf’s legs which are basically two green vertical lines, very easy! I added red pointy shoes at the bottom and that was it!

Ormai si sente molto l’atmosfera natalizia e io sono al settimo cielo perchè adoro il periodo delle feste! Lo amate anche voi oppure somigliate di più al Grinch?

La prima nail art natalizia che vi propongo è semplicissima, molto colorata e carinissima e spero vi piaccia! Ho usato uno smalto rosso con micro glitter dorati su tutte le unghie tranne che sull’anulare dove ho usato il bianco. Sullo sfondo rosso ho disegnato della neve che ricopre il terreno sulla punta delle dita, usando semplicemente un dotting tool, e poi ho aggiunto dei fiocchi di neve che cadono dall’alto. Sull’anulare ho disegnato le gambe di un elfo che non sono altro che due linee verticali verdi, facilissimo! Ho aggiunto delle scarpe rosse a punta ed è tutto!

One product review: colourpop creme gel colour liner

I’ve tried several Colourpop’s products and I usually love them, quality is good and they’re really inexpensive; have you tried any of their products? If you place an order for more than 50$ international shipping is free!

They have quite a wide range of gel liners, I don’t hear about them too often but they’re great if you love colourful liners and they can also be used as creamy eyeshadow base, so let’s see how they’re described:

Our extremely pigmented, super long-wearing, and versatile Crème Gel Colour Eyeliner formula has no limits. Price 6.00$.

What I like: I purchased a periwinkle shade, very unique, I don’t have this color as gel liner and it’s quite hard to find it; the color range is interesting and wide, there’s a classic black, a brown and also fun colors such as mine or yellow, red and many more. It comes in a glass jar that has to be carefully closed after each use else the products will dry out fast. It’s a gel formula and I find it easy to apply with a precision liner brush, it’s very pigmented even though my shade is light, it glides on the lid really well and tracing a line is easy. Once it sets it stays on without smudging, it lasts all day! It works well as a creamy base too, it gives you time to smudge it on the lid and pigments stick quite well to it.

What I don’t like: as I was saying you have to carefully close the lid after using it else it will get dry fast, like every gel liner in a jar.  That’s actually the only con I can find to this product!

my verdict: I definitely recommend it if you use gel liners and you want a smudge proof one that lasts all day and that’s not too expensive!

Hanno una gamma piuttosto vasta di gel liner, non ne sento parlare spesso ma sono perfetti se amate gli eyeliner colorati, e in più possono essere usati come basi cremose per ombretti, quindi vediamo come vengono descritti: la formula dei nostri pigmentatissimi, a lunga tenuta, e versatili Crème Gel Colour Eyeliner non ha limiti! Prezzo 6$.

Cosa mi piace: ho acquistato un color pervinca, un colore originale che non possiedo e che è difficile da trovare; la gamma colori è interessante e ampia, c’è il classico nero, il marrone, e colori divertenti come il mio o il giallo e il rosso, e tanti altri. Si presenta in un barattolino di vetro che deve essere chiuso bene dopo ogni uso, altrimenti il prodotto si secca rapidamente. È una formula in gel che trovo facile da applicare con un pennello di precisione, è molto pigmentato anche se io possiedo un colore chiaro, scivola bene sulla palpebra ed è facile tracciare una linea. Una volta fissato non sbava, e dura tutto il giorno! Funziona bene anche come base cremosa, c’è il tempo di sfumarlo sulla palpebra e i pigmenti aderiscono bene al prodotto.

Cosa non mi piace: come stavo dicendo, bisogna chiudere bene il tappo del barattolo, altrimenti il prodotto si seccherà rapidamente, cosa che succede con tutti gli eyeliner in gel. Questo è l’unico difetto che riesco a trovare a questo gel liner!

Il mio verdetto: ve lo consiglio se usate gli eyeliner in gel e ne volete uno resistente, che non coli, che duri tutto il giorno e che non costi troppo!

Connect the dots- unisci i puntini nail art

This nail art can be done in so many different ways, I really like it because it’s versatile and super simple and it looks good in any color combo you chose!

This time I used a dark purple nail polish as background color, and once it was dry I picked a dotting tool and I added white dots all over my nails. You can stop here if you like and you’ll get a very cute and sweet nail art. I decided to go on and I connected the dots with yellow to create a heart shape only on my ring finger, and that was it, I hope you like it!

Questa nail art si può realizzare in tanti modi diversi e mi piace molto perché è versatile e facilissima e, qualsiasi combinazione di colori scegliate, il risultato sarà veramente piacevole!
questa volta ho usato uno smalto viola scuro come colore di sfondo e, una volta asciutto, ho preso un dotting tool e ho aggiunto dei pois bianchi su tutte le unghie. Potete fermarvi qui se preferite, e otterrete una nail art adorabile e femminile. Io ho deciso di andare avanti e ho unito i pois sull’anulare usando il giallo e ottenendo la forma di un cuore, ed è tutto, spero vi piaccia!

In the last couple of years many brands launched stick foundations and I got very curious about them because I like full coverage foundations and sticks should be full coverage. The Cover Fx is the first one I tried, let’s see how  it’s described: Conceal, contour, and highlight with this multi-tasking stick foundation. Available in global shades, this longwearing formula instantly conceals imperfections with 32% pigment while its creamy yet weightless texture glides on effortlessly and blends seamlessly for a perfect second skin finish. Price 18.00 $ for 0.2 oz.

What I like: I like that it can be used as foundation and concealer, it’s perfect when going on vacation or for touch ups during the day. It’s buildable and it’s surprisingly not cakey ( I thought stick foundations were super cakey but I was wrong). In my opinion you’ll get the best result when you apply it with a beauty blender that defuses it and blends it evenly, it looks quite natural and it minimizes pores. I apply a second layer on blemishes and it covers them quite well, if you don’t have discoloration or acne scars it works fine as a concealer. I set it with powder else it gets shiny after 4-5 hours but I have oily skin. You can use it to contour, you just have to buy a dark shade.

What I don’t like: as I said I need to set it with powder else I get shiny quite fast but, if you have dry skin you won’t have any issue. Apart from that I think it’s a great stick foundation.

My verdict: it’s a good product and you’ll love it if you’re looking for a full coverage foundation with a natural finish!

Qualche anno fa molti marchi hanno lanciato sul mercato i fondotinta in stick e io mi sono incuriosita molto perché amo i fondotinta coprenti e quelli in stick hanno proprio questa caratteristica. Quello di Cover Fx è stato il primo che ho trovato, vediamo come viene descritto: Nascondere, contornare e evidenziare con questa base multi-tasking stick. Disponibile in una vasta gamma di tonalità, questa formula a lunga durata nasconde immediatamente le imperfezioni con il 32% di pigmenti mentre la sua texture cremosa e leggera scivola senza sforzo e si fonde perfettamente per un effetto seconda pelle. Prezzo 18.50 $ per 0.2 oz.

Cosa mi piace: mi piace il fatto che si possa usare sia come fondotinta che come correttore, è ideale per quando si va in vacanza o per un ritocco veloce nell’arco della giornata. È modulabile e sorprendentemente leggero (pensavo che i fondotinta in stick facessero effetto ‘mascherone’ ma mi sbagliavo). Secondo me il risultato migliore si ottiene applicandolo con una beauty blender che lo sfuma e lo distribuisce uniformemente, donando un effetto naturale che minimizza i pori. Ne applico un secondo strato sulle imperfezioni e le copre abbastanza bene, se non avete aree iperpigmentate o cicatrici di acne si comporta bene come correttore. Io lo fisso con la cipria altrimenti dopo 4-5 ore mi lucido ma io ho la pelle grassa. Si può usare anche per il contouring, basta acquistare una tonalità scura.

Cosa non mi piace: come ho appena detto io devo fissarlo con la cipria altrimenti mi lucido velocemente, ma se avete la pelle secca non avrete questo problema. A parte questo penso sia un ottimo fondotinta in stick.

Il mio verdetto: è un buon prodotto che amerete se state cercando un fondotinta coprente dalla finitura naturale.

eye makeup look: shimmery turquoise and taupe

This look is a good compromise between cold and warm shades, it’s got a wash of color and it’s perfect for this season!

I first applied a matte taupe eyeshadow in my crease as my transition color and I blended it out very well; in the outer corner of my eyes I applied a metallic warm brown, while on the rest of my lid I applied a metallic teal eyeshadow that is totally gorgeous, being careful not to bring it up in the crease,  and I blended where the two eyeshadow met. To warm up the look I added a caramel shade in  the lower half of my crease. I intensified the outer corner by adding a dark brown, and I completed the look with a winged liner and mascara, and that was it, I hope you like it!

Questo look è un buon compromesso tra tonalità fredde e calde, ha un tocco di colore ed è perfetto per questa stagione!

Come prima cosa ho applicato un ombretto opaco color talpa nella piega come colore di transizione e l’ho sfumato bene; nell’angolo esterno dell’occhio ho applicato un marrone caldo dalla finitura metallica, mentre sul resto della palpebra mobile ho usato un ombretto metallico turchese davvero bellissimo, facendo attenzione a non portarlo troppo in alto nella piega dell’occhio, e ho sfumato dove i due colori si incontravano. Per scaldare il look ho aggiunto un color caramello nella metà inferiore della piega dell’occhio. Ho intensificato l’angolo esterno aggiungendo del marrone scuro, e ho completato il look con una riga di eyeliner e del mascara, ed è tutto, spero vi piaccia!

For this look I started shaping my crease with a matte navy blue eyeshadow and a small definer brush, I rounded the shape at the outer corner and I blended upwards the blue; I built the color a little bit at a time because dark shades could be difficult to blend when you apply too much powder, it’s better to add when needed. I used a charcoal eyeshadow along the edges to blend it evenly.  On my lid I used a satin lime green that helped me define my cut crease a bit more. I completed the look with a winged liner and some mascara, and that was it, I hope you like it!

Per questo look ho cominciato a delineare la cut crease con un ombretto opaco blu scuro e un pennello sottile per dettagli, ho dato una forma rotonda all’angolo esterno dell’occhio e ho sfumato il blu verso l’alto; ho aggiunto il colore poco alla volta perché i colori scuri possono essere difficili da sfumare se se ne applica una quantità eccessiva, è meglio aggiungerne solo se serve. Ho usato un ombretto grigio scuro per sfumare uniformemente i contorni del blu. Sulla palpebra mobile ho usato un ombretto verde acido satinato che mi ha aiutato a definire ancor meglio la cut crease. Ho completato il look con una riga di eyeliner ed è tutto, spero vi piaccia!

Eye makeup look coppery pink

For this look I used pink and copper shades, there are several palettes featuring these shades and I think they are very flattering for many skin tones!

I started by applying a matte burned orange shade in the outer part of my crease with a blending brush, and then I added a matte medium brown in my crease to give more depth to the look. On the lid I applied a metallic rose gold and I blended the edges. I decided to add a tiny bit of a darker brown in the outer corner of my eyes to give more dimension to it, and I completed the look with a winged liner and some mascara, and that was it, I hope you like it!

Per questo look ho usato tonalità rosa e bronzo, ci sono diverse palette con questi colori che, secondo me, stanno bene a tanti tipi di carnagione!

Ho cominciato ad applicare un ombretto opaco arancione bruciato nell’angolo esterno della piega dell’occhio con un pennello da sfumatura, e poi ho aggiunto un ombretto opaco marrone medio nella piega per dare più profondità al look. Sulla palpebra mobile ho applicato un ombretto metallico color oro rosato e ne ho sfumato i contorni. Ho deciso di aggiungere un pizzico di marrone scuro nell’angolo esterno dell’occhio per dare più dimensione al look, e l’ho completato con una riga di eyeliner e del mascara, ed è tutto, spero vi piaccia!

Charmed-Streghe (serie tv) nail art

This nail art is inspired by my favorite 90’s tv series, Charmed! I’ve watched it several times, I have all seasons in dvd, I love the story, the characters, especially Phoebe because her personality is similar to mine, I love everything about charmed!

I went for a simple nail art so everybody can give it a try, so I painted my thumb and ring finger with a black nail polish and the rest of my nails with a sparkly gold nail polish.  On my thumb and ring finger I painted a triquetra, the symbol on the cover of the book of shadows, in gold; on my middle finger I drew the logo of P3, their club, which is also a symbol of the power of three, and that was it, I hope you like it!

Questa nail art si ispira alla mia serie preferita degli anni 90, Streghe! L’ho vista diverse volte, ho tutte le stagioni in dvd, adoro la storia, i personaggi, specialmente Phoebe perché ha il carattere simile al mio, amo tutto di streghe!

Ho deciso di realizzare una nail art semplice che tutti possono provare a ricreare, quindi ho usato uno smalto nero sul pollice e sull’anulare, e uno dorato, molto luminoso, sul resto delle unghie. Sul pollice e sull’anulare ho disegnato il triquetra, il simbolo che si trova sulla copertina del Libro delle Ombre, usando il color oro;  sul medio ho disegnato il logo del P3, il loro locale, che è anche il simbolo del potere del trio, ed è tutto, spero vi piaccia!
