March empties aka all good things come to an end aka samples galore

it’s time to open my empties box and see what we find inside, are you ready? Let’s start!

I was under the impression of not having run out of many products, but when I checked I realized there were quite a few, the first one is the body shop body butter in glazed apple, one of the Christmas limited edition fragrances: it’s a nice, crispy , granny smith apple smell that I like, but I prefer the sparkly ginger way more, and I’m still sad they replaced it with glazed apple , I hope they’re going to change their mind next year. As for the butter itself, it’s very moisturizing, it gets absorbed fast, it’s not greasy and it’s not too thick, I love it!

I ran out of the body shop tea tree skin clearing toner, formulated for oily skin, one of my favourite tonic because it leaves a fresh feeling on my skin, it gets rid of any makeup with just a wipe, it’s not oily, it’s not greasy and it doesn’t have to be rinsed off. It’s been part of my skin care routine for years and I have no intention to replace it!

This month I tried Kiko cleansing pure gel for the first time and I think it’s a great product for dry and sensitive skin as it’s very delicate, there aren’t micrograins in it, it’s a transparent gel that cleanse your skin without being aggressive. It’s a bit too delicate for my skin type though, I have to use a scrub along with it, else my skin breaks out way more often than it does when I use oily skin specific products.

Another product I tried for the first time is Kiko punk seduction body butter, that came out with the Punk Couture limited edition and I bought it because it looked very classy in its tin case with a tiny sponge applicator, I couldn’t resist it!  I’ll write a full review on it soon, but I actually was disappointed because it lasted not more than one week, and it was tricky to apply, it’s got a thick consistency and I used the sponge to pick it, but it took a while to get absorbed. It’s not worth it, it was quite expensive especially if you think it lasted just few days!

A product I always use on my heels, elbows , for my hair care and after epilation , is the shea butter, and this month I ran out of the I Provenzali one, a 100% pure shea butter I always repurchase because it’s a good one, it’s scent free and a little goes a long way.

I use soap bars when I shower, and I opened up a sweet violet one by Nesti Dante, one of my favourite brands: it’s got a very subtle scent, it’s not aggressive and it doesn’t dry my skin, it makes a nice and soft foam and it’s quite inexpensive, I usually buy different scents and I stock them up when I can!

as I said I have to scrub my face to keep shine at bay and to prevent break outs, so this month I used some Petit Jardin samples that are actually really good: it’s a face scrub that cleanse the skin without irritating it, there are microbeads in it but it feels gentle on the skin , I really like it!

I tried a Clarins extra firming day cream sample as a night cream, it lasted one week or so and it was good, nothing to write home about it but I couldn’t test it enough to know if it works; it did its job even though I didn’t feel my skin firmer or more toned.

I opened another Montagne Jeunesse mask, the white chocolate one, and I totally loved it! It smells just like white chocolate, you apply it on your cleansed skin and let it sit for 20 minutes, and then you rinse it with warm water; your skin feels cleansed, pores are unclogged and minimized , and at the same time you’ll feel your skin moisturized! I’m going to repurchase it for sure!

Another sample I ran out of is Garnier miracle skin cream, and it was another not bad cream, but then again it’s hard to tell if it does what it’s supposed to when you’ve got just a sample.

More samples, yes I know, I’ve been trying to use them because I’ve got a huge box filled with them: the Petit Jardin face cream for men is very thick and rich, definitely not a good choice for oily skin, but it works well after shaving when the skin needs extra nourishing, it’s perfect for men actually!

The green energy organics fresh cream cleanser is a lightweight gel that removes makeup easily, it actually gives a cool feeling to the skin, it’s delicate but effective and I’d like to try the full size of this product; the guam deep moisturizing anti wrinkle day cream is way too heavy for my skin, it didn’t get absorbed no matter how much I tried, but I think it would be great for more mature skin or for very dry skin. It’s not thick but it is very concentrated and hydrating.

Last three samples are by Fatti a mano, here you can read my haul post, they are three body creams and my favourite was shea butter, orange and cinnamon one, it smelled delicious, it had the right consistency, my skin felt soft and moisturized but not oily at all; I found the  other two nice and both very moisturizing, I think I might place an order to get more of them!

È arrivato il momento di aprire la mia scatola dei prodotti finiti e di scoprire cosa contiene! Siete pronte? Cominciamo!

Questo mese ero convinta di aver terminato pochi prodotti, invece quando ho aperto la scatola mi sono resa conto che era piuttosto piena; il primo prodotto che vi mostro è il burro corpo alla mela candita di The Body shop, che faceva parte di una delle edizioni limitate natalizie: ha un profumo fresco , esattamente di mela verde, ma devo dire che preferivo decisamente la fragranza zenzero brioso , e sono ancora triste se penso che non è più disponibile, spero che il prossimo anno venga riproposta. Per quanto riguarda le caratteristiche del burro corpo non sono rimasta delusa, è molto idratante, si assorbe velocemente, non unge e non è troppo corposo, mi piace molto!

Ho finito il tonico the body shop al tea tree , specifico per pelli grasse, che è uno dei miei tonici preferiti perché lascia una sensazione di freschezza sulla pelle, elimina qualsiasi residuo di trucco con una sola passata, non è oleoso, non unge e non deve essere risciacquato. Fa parte della mia routine di pulizia del viso da anni, e non ho intenzione di sostituirlo!

Questo mese ho provato il Kiko cleansing pure gel per la prima volta e , secondo me, è un ottimo prodotto per le pelli secche e sensibili perché è molto delicato, non contiene microgranuli all’interno, è un gel trasparente che deterge la pelle senza essere aggressivo. Per la mia tipologia di pelle è, però, un po’ troppo delicato, devo usarlo abbinandolo a un esfoliante per evitare la comparsa di imperfezioni, cosa che accade se lo uso da solo.

Un altro prodotto che ho provato per la prima volta è il burro corpo Kiko punk seduction, uscito con l’edizione limitata Punk Couture, che ho comprato perché mi è piaciuta la confezione in latta , molto elegante, con all’interno una spugnetta per applicare il prodotto, a cui non ho saputo resistere!presto pubblicherò una recensione completa, posso dirvi che sono rimasta piuttosto delusa perché non è durato più di una settimana e non era assolutamente pratico da applicare, la consistenza è spessa e usavo la spugnetta in dotazione per prelevarlo, ma comunque la stesura e l’assorbimento erano lenti. Non vale la pena comprarlo a mio parere, soprattutto perché, considerando quanto poco è durato, ha un prezzo troppo elevato.

Un prodotto che uso sempre sui talloni, sui gomiti, per la cura dei capelli e dopo la depilazione, è il burro di karitè, e questo mese ho finito quello de I Provenzali, puro al 100%, che ricompro abitualmente perché è di buona qualità, è privo di fragranze e ne basta pochissimo!

Quando faccio la doccia uso le saponette, e questo mese ho aperto quella alla violetta di Nesti Dante Firenze , una delle marche che preferisco: ha un profumo molto delicato, non è aggressiva e non secca la pelle, fa una schiuma soffice e leggera, ha un ottimo prezzo; a me piace provare tutte le profumazioni disponibili, e quando posso ne faccio scorta!

Come vi stavo dicendo , devo esfoliare il viso per prevenire la formazione di brufoli ed opacizzare la pelle, così ho usato alcuni campioncini di Petit Jardin con cui mi sono trovata bene: l’esfoliante è efficace ma non aggressivo, contiene micro granuli al suo interno ma è delicato sulla pelle, mi piace molto!

Ho provato un campioncino di crema da giorno Clarins extra rassodante, che ho però usato come crema da notte, mi è durata circa una settimana ed è una buona crema anche se non è niente di eccezionale, ma obiettivamente non l’ho provata abbastanza a lungo per capire se funzioni o meno; la pelle non appariva più soda, anche se  la crema era sufficientemente idratante per la mia pelle.

Ho aperto una maschera Montagne Jeunesse al cioccolato bianco, e mi è piaciuta tantissimo! Profuma proprio di cioccolato bianco, si applica sulla pelle detersa e si lascia in posa per 20 minuti, dopodiché si risciacqua con acqua tiepida; lascia la pelle pulita, libera i pori da impurità e ne minimizza le dimensioni, e allo stesso tempo idrata ! la ricomprerò sicuramente!

Ho usato un campioncino di Crema viso Garnier skin miracle, e anche in questo caso mi è sembrata una crema valida, anche se non ne avevo una quantità sufficiente per capire se effettivamente funzionasse.

Ancora campioncini, lo so , questo mese ce ne sono molti, ma sto cercando di finirli perché ne ho una scatola piena: la crema viso uomo di Petit Jardin è molto ricca, decisamente non indicata per pelli grasse, ma ottima invece come crema dopo rasatura, quando la pelle ha bisogno di nutrimento profondo, quindi la consiglio agli uomini!

Il green energy organics fresh cream cleanser è un detergente dalla consistenza leggera che rimuove il trucco molto facilmente , e lascia sulla pelle una sensazione di freschezza, è delicato ma efficace , e mi piacerebbe provare la confezione grande; la crema da giorno anti rughe a idratazione profonda di Guam è decisamente troppo corposa per me, non riuscivo a farla assorbire sebbene abbia provato in tutti i modi, ritengo sia un’ottima crema per pelli mature e molto secche . non ha una consistenza pesante, è concentrata e molto nutriente.

Gli ultimi tre campioncini sono dell’azienda Fatti a mano, di cui potete leggere il post haul qui, sono tre creme corpo , e quella che mi è piaciuta di più è quella al karitè , arancia e cannella, che ha un profumo paradisiaco e la giusta consistenza, lasciava la pelle morbida, idratata e non unta; anche le altre due erano idratanti e mi ci sono trovata bene, tanto che sto pensando di fare un ordine sul loro sito!
