Makeup look inspired by Naomi Campbell in "In the closet" video

Today we’re going back to the 90’s , and to be precise to one of my favorite music video ever, In the closet. I remember when the video came out, it was talked about a lot because it was very sexy and it was something new for MJ, not his usual style; I thought it was awesome and very sensual, they were both sexy and there was chemistry between them!

Naomi was sporting a typical 90’s look, the one I tried to recreate today. My skin tone is, obviously, very different from hers, I had to use different shades and that’s fine because I wanted to do an inspired look with 90’s vibes, and I think it turned out pretty good!

The look is simple and sophisticated , quick and easy to do : I applied a matte caramel eyeshadow all over my lid and I blended it upwards toward my crease; I added a milk chocolate brown in the outer corner and I extended it towards the temples to make my eyes look bigger and cat like , like Naomi’s . For my browbone highlighter I chose a matte vanilla eyeshadow, and then I used black eyeliner on my upper lashline without winging it dramatically because it seems to me Naomi didn’t have a thick winged liner. She did have a thick brown line on the lower lashline, so I used brown eyeshadow to achieve the same result. Her signature look included a brown lip pencil and a lighter brown lipstick , and that’s what I did too, and that’s it, I hope you like it!

Oggi torniamo indietro agli anni 90, e per essere precisi a uno dei miei video preferiti di sempre, In the closet. Mi ricordo quando uscì questo video, se ne parlò molto perché era molto sensuale ed era diverso dagli altri video di MJ, non era il suo solito stile; secondo me era bellissimo e sexy, entrambi erano sexy e si vedeva che c’era attrazione fra loro!

Naomi ci proponeva un tipico look anni 90, che è quello che ho cercato di riprodurre oggi. La mia carnagione è, ovviamente, molto diversa dalla sua, quindi ho dovuto usare tonalità diverse ma questo non è stato un problema, perché volevo proporre un look ispirato al suo con richiami agli anni 90, e secondo me è riuscito piuttosto bene!

Il look è semplice e sofisticato, veloce e facile da eseguire: ho applicato un ombretto color caramello su tutta la palpebra mobile e l’ho sfumato verso la piega dell’occhio; ho aggiunto un color cioccolato al latte nell’angolo esterno e gli ho dato una forma allungata verso le tempie, che fa sembrare gli occhi più grandi e accentua la forma a mandorla come quella di Naomi. Come illuminante sotto l’arcata sopraccigliare ho scelto un ombretto opaco color vaniglia, e poi ho usato dell’eyeliner nero all’attaccatura delle ciglia superiore senza disegnare una riga spessa e allungata perché mi sembrava che quella di Naomi fosse piuttosto sottile. Lei ha una riga spessa , color marrone, nella rima inferiore , che ho riprodotto usando dell’ombretto marrone. Uno dei suoi segni distintivi era la matita labbra marrone di un tono più scura del rossetto, che ho voluto riproporre anche io, ed è tutto, spero vi piaccia!
