June empties aka all good things come to an end

Hi fairies,
this month my empties box is quite empty (no pun intended), I used a lot of samples but I didn’t finish any makeup products unfortunately; it was to be expected, I ran out of few products the last few months, and now I have to wait to hit pan on others, I’m almost there for two or three products and I hope they’ll be in my empties box next month!

Let’s start with Supre Tan self tanners, I talked about them here, this month I used them all and I loved them! They smell amazing, my favourite was the watermelon one that smelled like fresh watermelon, they get absorbed fast , they’re not streaky nor patchy! I achieved a natural golden color that lasted four days after putting them on, I was very pleased with the result and I wish I had more, I’m thinking of ordering them!

I finished the kiko perfect gel duo top coat and I love it! It came in a box with a nail polish, they were part of a limited edition launched two months ago and, unfortunately, they’re not available anymore. I bought four of them so I’ve got three bottles left but I wish I had more, I wanted to buy more colors but when I tried they were out of stock. I prefer this top coat over the 3 in 1 shine base and top coat, which is my go to, because it dries fast, the consistency isn’t thick or gloppy but it layers thickly for a gel like effect just as claimed and, most important of all, my nail art lasts five days without chipping! I hope they will be part of the permanent line in the near future because they’re awesome!

I had to get rid of some old nail polishes, some are at least 7 years old, they’re dry and keeping them would be totally pointless. They’re by essence and catrice, they’re low cost so I don’t feel particularly guilty at throwing them away!

I finished my favourite face scrub, Kiko cleansing scrub, and I already repurchased it; I recommend you this scrub if you’ve got oily skin , it’s very effective at keeping shine at bay, at cleansing deeply and unclogging pores without being aggressive, it cleans your skin and it gives it a nice , healthy glow ! Here you can read my full review.

I use soap bars when I shower, and this one is one of my favourite because it’s very delicate , it doesn’t dry my skin, it’s moisturizing and the scent is very subtle! It’s I Provenzali sweet almond oil soap bar, it’s not expensive at all and you can use it on children as well!

Another old product I ran out of is a Catrice liquid liner in a nice bronze shade: it was almost gone, I’ve got it for at least five years, and now it smelled really bad so I had to get rid of it even if there was a bit of product left. It’s got a felt tip applicator that allows to draw a neat line, the consistency was a bit runny but all in all it was ok, especially considering how inexpensive it was!

In summer I love some sparkly body oil on my skin, I love to glow and shine, and this Kiko Precious Touch body oil that came out last Christmas was totally perfect! First of all I love the round bottle, very cute and nice to keep on my vanity, second of all I love the oil itself, it’s dry oil that doesn’t leave your skin greasy at all, it gets absorbed very fast and it’s packed with tiny sparkles that shine a lot when the light hit your skin! The scent is a floral one but it’s not overwhelming, it’s very subtle.
It wasn’t a huge bottle though, that’s why I used another body oil, the kiko shimmering body oil, here you can read my review, that is very similar to the Precious touch shimmering body oil, this one smells of baby powder but they are both dry oils, they both get absorbed very fast and they’re both full of gold shimmers!

I apply castor oil on my eyelashes and nails every evening before going to bed to help them grow out , and I’ve seen an improvement since I started using it, that’s why I already repurchased it!

That’s it for this month, see you next month with more empties!

Ciao fatine,

June most played

Hi fairies,
It’s the end of the month and that means it’s time for another most played post! Before starting I’ll leave you the link to GoldenVi0let’s blog, the creator of this awesome tag! You’ll find the info to join in , if you haven’t yet you definitely should!

This month I’ve been using a tinted moisturizer rather than my beloved liquid foundation , because temperature is getting higher and I wanted something lighter for my face and I decided to use the OCC tinted moisturizer I bought last winter. At first I didn’t like it much because it didn’t give me the coverage I was looking for, but I’ve experimented with it and now I like it for summer, because it evens out my skin and it’s not too heavy, perfect for running errands and on a daily basis! When I want more coverage I match it with Too Faced Cocoa powder foundation and I get a medium coverage that doesn’t look cakey at all!

For concealer I’ve been using another OCC product, here you can read my full review on it; there are few updates on what I think about it, this is a very creamy concealer and a little goes a long way, it provides full coverage and I love it to conceal imperfections because it’s easy to blend and it looks very natural! On the other hand it’s not a good under eye concealer at all, at least that’s my experience, because it creases a lot and when I say a lot I mean a heck of a lot! It sets into fine lines and it makes me look like a 80 years old woman, it looks horrible! I’m stubborn though , and I don’t want to open another concealer , so I’ve been using it anyway and I found out it looks a bit better if I use a Coastal Scent brush to apply it, which is another of my most played of this month: as you can see it’s a dense brush with a flat tip , I use it to blend the concealer in with circular motions and the result is decent. I also “cook” the concealer with setting powder , and that helps too: if you haven’t heard of the cooking technique, it basically works by generously applying setting powder with a cosmetic sponge all over concealer, soon after you put it on, and letting it sit for five minutes; after 5 minutes you remove the excess powder with a brush, and that will prevent concealer to set into fine lines! It works quite well and it allows me to use this concealer in my under eye area!

Let’s move on to nail polish: I haven’t got many nude shades because they’re not my favourite, but I bought Mac modern movement few months ago because it wasn’t the classic nude color, it had a cool, mauve undertone I really liked, and I’m currently halfway through the bottle! I used it in several nail arts, it applies easily without streaks, it’s long lasting and I really like the shade!

Kiko recently launched a limited edition nail polish line called perfect gel duo, and I bought four of them : each nail polish comes with a top coat, perfect gel duo top coat, and it claims to be very longlasting and to give a gel like finish to your nails. I regret not having bought more of them because they’re awesome, they went out of stock so fast when I wanted to buy more they were gone! I love this top coat because it makes my nail polish last really long, around five – six days without chipping, it gives a very shiny finish and a nice thickness similar to gel nails. I already ran out of one bottle, three more to go and after that I don’t know how I will do without it, I hope kiko will put it in the permanent line!

Last product is a lipstick I didn’t like at first, kiko luscious punk couture nr 04, but now I really love it! It’s purple with red in it, it’s very pigmented and it’s got microglitter in it that gives your lips a nice shine! At first I wasn’t too keen on the finish, I thought it was too glossy and not very longlasting, but I found out it looks great once applied, it’s not super shiny and it’s not sticky, it’s very comfortable, you can’t feel glitters but you can’t definitely see how shiny it is, and it looks nice in summer when you might want to add a bit of glow to your lips! It lasts 3 hours on my lips, it starts fading after that but it stains your lips so you will still have a dash of color on! here you'll find my review.

That’s it for this month, see you next month with more most played!

Ciao fatine,

Gomme e C-clip Rainbow Loom®

Li avete provati? Sono il must dell’estate!
