august empties aka all good things come to an end

Hi fairies,
unfortunately I had to skip my monthly empties post last month due to some unexpected issues happening in my life, but this month I’m back! I finished lots of products last month and I feel so bummed I couldn’t post, but anyway this month my box was pretty full too!

august_2016_empties
As a skin moisturizer I used I Provenzali dry coconut oil parabens and silicons free and I loved it, it smells of coconut, it’s not greasy, it’s very hydrating and it comes with a pump that worked till the end! It’s perfect on the beach as well and I don’t think we could ask for more from a dry oil!

august_2016_empties

I tried Kiko anti age foundation for the first time and, all in all, I think it’s a good foundation that performs well on oily skin even in summer: it’s medium to high coverage, it doesn’t look cakey and it doesn’t  emphasize pores. I could see a little bit of shine in my T zone after 4-5 hours but temperature has been over 30 and this is not a mattyfing foundation so, to me, it worked well. The only thing I really don’t like it’s the smell: I’m not very sensitive to fragrances and, most of the time, I don’t mind strong ones but this one is really unpleasant and strong, I can feel it for few minutes after applying it. It’s hard to describe the smell, there’s a floral scent in it for sure and all in all I really don’t like it.

august_2016_empties

For my hair I used Garnier Fructis Hydra Liss oil, and it’s hydrating and not too greasy. I like that it comes with a pump, way easier to apply it this way, and it really helps getting rid of frizziness.

august_2016_empties

I also used L’oreal elvive hair oil because in summer my hair needs extra hydration to stay healthy and to keep frizziness at bay, and also because I wash it on a daily basis instead of every other day like I do in winter; this oil is one of my favourite because it’s very moisturizing but not greasy, it keeps my curls bouncy and shiny and it smells so good!

august_2016_empties

Another body care product I ran off (yes I know, I really use lots of body lotions and butters!) is from the brand I love… Mango & papaya , and the scent was awesome, it really smells like mango and papaya and it’s not an artificial scents! It’s moisturizing, not too thick, easy to apply and the smell is long lasting. It’s a  low cost product and it’s really worth trying it!

august_2016_empties

The Monoi tiki Tahiti tiare oil is just as good as the body butter I’ve just mentioned, it smells amazing and a little goes a long way; you can apply it on damp skin, just before getting out of the shower for deep hydration, and you’ll smell of tropical beaches all day long!

august_2016_empties

I’ve recently posted a full review on Kiko cleansing eyes & lips, where I said I loved it because it removes any kind of makeup, waterproof one included, very easily without leaving an oily layer on your skin. Here you can read my full review if you’re interested.

august_2016_empties

Here you can see two sunscreen tubes, one is with SPF 50 and the other one is with SPF 30, both are by Kiko, I’ve been using this brand for the last two years because their sunblocks aren’t expensive, I don’t break out, I love the consistency, they’re winners in my opinion! I apply sunblock all year round but in summer I apply it on my arms and legs too so I run out of it faster than usual.

august_2016_empties

I always have a Shea body butter jar on hand because I use it on my heels, elbows, my under eye area at night and as a deep conditioning mask for my hair once a month. I’ve just finished this one, bought online at naissance.co.uk , a great page for butters and oils!

august_2016_empties

This world of beauty oil really helped toning my skin, I’ve been impressed with it: I applied on my thighs and tummy every day after showering and, luckily, it wasn’t one of those oils with warming action, I hate them! This one was just a classic oil but it was very effective!

august_2016_empties

Last but not least there’s some makeup: my favourite summer setting powder, the balm sexy mama of course, here you can read my review. And two kiko lipsticks that actually melted and I had to get rid of them.
august_2016_empties

That’s it for this month, see you next month with more empties!

Ciao fatine,

august_2016_empties

Eye makeup look green and teal

Hi fairies,
Let’s start this month with a colorful look that will bring summer memories back, it will make you think of sea colors and iridescences , of vacation, of the sun and also of parrots, at least I do think of their feathers when I wear this look!
I started by applying a bright, shimmery eyeshadow in the inner corner of my eye, and then I applied a grass green eye shadow with a metallic finish all over my lid; I wet my brush a tiny bit to make the color more vibrant than it already was, and I blended out the edges by adding a bit of eye shadow on a fluffy brush and going all around them; I patted a blue eyeshadow in the outer corner , on top of the green , while in my crease I used a royal blue pigment on a blending brush. I picked a sparkly cream eye shadow as brow bone highlighter, and I also added the royal blue in the outer half and the green eyeshadow in the inner half of my lower lashline, and that was it, I hope you like it!

Ciao fatine,

My wishlist at newchic

Purple Prom Dresses
Hi fairies,
I’ve already talked to you about newchic, which is an awesome website where you can find lots of clothes, shoes, bags and accessories at competitive prices! I’ve placed a couple of orders so far and I’ve been impressed by the quality: every item is really well made and it doesn’t look cheap at all!
I’ve recently posted a wish list and today I’m here with another one because it’s impossible to just stop at five items, so here are some more!

I think this white lace dress is absolutely adorable, it’s so girly, sweet and romantic and I really want it!

when I saw this shirt my thoughts immediately went back to my teen years, when I had a very similar one because they were so trendy worn on skinny jeans or leggings, and they were also super comfy! Needless to say I need this one too, I love the longer back just like my old one had!

last but not least I picked this moon pendant that glows in the dark, I really like it!

Ciao fatine,

eye makeup look neutral and electric blue

Hi fairies,
Today’s look is really simple and you can use any bright colors of your choice in the crease, such as purple, emerald green, burgundy and so on, you can customize it to your liking! It’s a quick makeup look you can wear when you don’t know what colors to use, it’s definitely going to look stunning!
I started by applying a matte skin color eyeshadow all over my lid to even it out so that veins won’t show up(I’m very pale and you can see few veins on my lids), and then I picked a fluffy blending brush and I applied a light hazelnut eyeshadow in the crease, to give more dimension to my eye; with the same blending brush I picked an electric blue pigment and I applied it in my crease and I brought it down to my outer corner, blending it back and forth till it was defused . I went back in with the vanilla eyeshadow on my lid just because with all that blending it needed to be touched up, and after that I used a royal blue gel liner that matches the crease color to create a thick winged liner, and that was basically it, I used a white eye pencil in my waterline to open up my eye and I completed the look with mascara, as you can see it’s very simple yet stunning, I hope you like it!

Ciao fatine,

a year with nail art #8 palm trees

Hi fairies,
I bet you’ve been dreaming of spending this hot summer on a tropical island, am I right? I have, I wish I was on a hammock with a light summer breeze caressing me and coconut juice ready to drink…it would be perfect!

I can’t go on a tropical island but I can do a themed nail art that helps me daydreaming, and this month’s nail art is perfect for that! I’ll leave you the links to Chiara and Redda’s blog where you can find all the info to join us if you haven’t already.

I painted my thumb and middle finger in white, my ring finger in a glittery gold nail polish and my index and pinkie with a tiffany green nail polish. On the white background I drew some tiny palms by painting a golden trunk and adding the top with the tiffany green nail polish I previously used. I sealed my design with top coat and that was it, I hope you like it!

Ciao fatine,

Hi fairies, I’m very pleased to have the chance to try the new Neroli Vivace line by World of beauty and I’m thrilled to talk about it to...
