One product review kiko anti age foundation

Hi fairies,
Even though I’ve found my holy grail foundation, which is Mac studio fix fluid SPF 15, I still like trying new ones especially when it comes to low cost ones, because I’d love to have a couple of them to use on an everyday basis when I don’t need or want to use Mac one. That’s why I purchased Kiko anti age foundation, even though it didn’t sound like the perfect match for my skin type but it seemed to work better for normal to dry skin, but I tried few kiko foundations and, in my opinion, they perform well, so well that I repurchased the mat mousse just to mention one, and I was curious about this one.

Let’s see how it’s described:  Cream foundation specific for mature skin, with a comfortable texture and enriched with ingredients to fight the signs of imperfections due to natural skin aging.
A sublime synergy between make up and skin care, developed to complement KIKO's Anti-Age treatment system: it awakens the youthfulness of the face and gives the complexion an even, smooth and radiant appearance.Rich, comfortable and perfectly blendable, the texture of Anti-Age Foundation SPF 15 gives adjustable coverage: lighter for a fresh effect - in harmony with the complexion - fuller for a total, yet natural, perfection result. Latest generation photochromic pigments create an overall radiance on the face, which is stable over time and when the light intensity changes: the skin appears fresh and rested, while imperfections and skin spots are minimized. Its exclusive formula contains K2 age-conceal, an exclusive pool of active ingredients with smoothing, firming and anti-streak properties, including:
- An ingredient of biotechnological origin extracted from a plant known for its capacity to fight the signs of skin aging (lines, dryness, loss of density) linked to hormonal changes.
- Polypeptide complex that improves the integrity of the skin's support structure. Nourishes, redensifies and reduces the look of lines, giving firmness.
- Innovative Vitamin C derivative, a potent antioxidant, that is able to inhibit the uneven formation of melanin and therefore prevents brown age spots. Anti-Age Foundation SPF 15
is also enriched with sunscreens to protect facial skin from photo-aging. Price 15.90 £- 15.90 € for 30 ml.

What I like : I like the black and gold packaging and the pump that allows to get the right amount of product out without wasting any. It worked till the end so I give it a thumbs up as we all know sometimes pumps break before we finish a product. It’s got a creamy consistency, not too runny nor too thick, in my opinion is the right one for an even and easy application. I apply it both with a beauty blender or with a flat kabuki type brush and I’m satisfied either way as it’s not streaky, it’s not patchy, it gives time to work it on my face before setting, it doesn’t emphasize thin lines and pores and it gives medium coverage so it’s great as an everyday foundation. It’s got SPF 15 but it’s not a full spectrum one as it happens with all makeup products, so I apply a sunblock as base anyway, but I always appreciate foundations with spf. I set it with a face powder, a step I take with any foundations because I got oily skin and I need to set my foundation to keep shine at bay, and it performed really well even in summer when I get shiny really fast! It feels moisturizing without being greasy, which is good.

What I don’t like: the smell. Seriously, the smell is awful. I’m not sensitive to smells, I usually don’t mind them but this one oh my god! I hate the smell, I can’t describe it because it’s not floral nor sweet, it’s very peculiar and long lasting though and I wish they changed it because it’s seriously hard to use it even for me. I haven’t noticed any radiance but it could be it didn’t show because I set it with matte face powder. After 5-6 hours it starts to look a bit cakey around my mouth and my nose, but it was to be expected by a radiant foundation that isn’t the best option for oily skin.

My verdict: I might repurchase it even if I really don’t like the scent, but all in all it’s a lightweight foundation that evens out my skin and it’s a great alternative to high end foundations when I just have to run errands; it’s nice to switch to a luminous foundation once in a while, I always gravitate towards mattyfing ones so I like to have this one on hand.

Italian version:

ciao fatine,
