When it
comes to hair care l’m very careful to pick natural products that are known for
being very nourishing and moisturizing; my hair is long and it needs to be
taken care of with deep conditioning, else it will get split ends and I don’t
want to cut it short so I do my best to keep it healthy. I’ve been using
natural , raw oils for deep conditioning for quite a long time and my hair
loves them! They keep it soft, shiny and moisturized in spite of coloring ,
which is actually the only chemical treatment it puts up with.
Today I’m
telling you my impression on the body shop monoi miracle oil, an oil that can
be used for hair and body, but I use it for my hair mostly, and I’ve been
repurchasing it many times because , in my opinion, it works really well. Let’s
see how it’s described: This fragrant oil is inspired by Polynesian spa
rituals. It can be used as a body moisturiser, massage oil, bath oil or hair
conditioner. For body, bath and hair. Gardenia and coconut scent. It’s part of
the Polynesia line and the 150 ml bottle’s price is 10.00 £- 15.00 €.
What I
like: I love the scent, that reminds me of summer and a tropical island, I
don’t smell coconut much, it’s more a floral scent in my opinion but I guess it
varies from one person to another. It stays on for a while but it’s not too
strong, and I like that too. I love that the bottle is see through so that you
can check how much oil is left and you don’t have to guess by shaking it or by
weighing it ! the oil itself is very rich and moisturizing, a little goes a
long way, but it’s not greasy and that’s great because my hair looks soft and
it’s not flat after applying it. I apply it on damp hair , I divide it in four
sections and I start from my ends going up to the roots. I also mix it with raw
coconut oil and jojoba or castor oil for deep conditioning every two weeks. A
bottle lasts long and to me it’s worth the price. I love it!
What I
don’t like: it’s hard to find down sides to this wonderful oil, so hard that to
tell you the truth I haven’t found any! I could say not everybody might like
its scent, because when you open the bottle it’s quite strong, and if you’re
not into floral and sweet fragrances you might find this one overwhelming, you might think it’s too much : it stays on for a while and then it fades away,
but I know some people can’t stand to smell a fragrance they don’t like , even
if for a short amount of time. I’ve got oily skin and I use oils anyway, they
work well and they don’t leave my skin greasy; my hair though
isn’t oily at all, it’s very dry, so maybe if you’ve got oily hair an oil might
be too much and it might be too heavy for you.
My verdict:
it is a very good oil for hair care, not greasy, very nourishing, with a good
quality price ratio. I can’t go without it and I recommend it for keeping your
hair healthy, shiny and soft, especially in summer even though I use it all
year round.

Quando si parla di cura dei capelli sono molto attenta a
scegliere prodotti naturali con proprietà nutrienti ed idratanti; ho i capelli
lunghi ed hanno bisogno di essere costantemente nutriti, altrimenti si formano
le doppie punte, si sfibrano, e sarei costretta a tagliarli, cosa che non
voglio assolutamente! Uso oli puri e naturali da diversi anni , e i miei
capelli li amano! Gli oli li mantengono morbidi, lucidi e nutriti, nonostante
siano tinti, che poi in realtà è l’unico stress a cui li sottopongo.
Oggi vi parlerò dell’olio di monoi spa wisdom di the body
shop, che può essere usato sia per i capelli che per il corpo, anche se io lo
uso principalmente sui capelli, e l’ho ricomprato moltissime volte perché,
secondo me, è un prodotto valido. Vediamo come viene descritto: Leggero e non
grasso, può essere utilizzato in numerosi modi diversi per ammorbidire e
proteggere pelle e capelli, per un voluttuoso massaggio o come
superabbronzante. Con olio di cocco vergine biologico ed olio di sesamo
del Commercio Equo, olio di mandorla ed olio di monoi ottenuto dalla macerazione del fiore di Tiaré (gardenia Thaitensis) in olio puro di cocco, secondo la millenaria tradizione
tahitiana. Prezzo 10.00 £- 15.00 € per 150 ml.
Cosa mi piace : mi piace molto l’odore , che
mi ricorda proprio l’estate e i tropici, io non sento molto il profumo di
cocco, secondo me è prevalentemente floreale, ma credo che per ognuno di noi
sia diverso, qualcuno magari sentirà anche le note del cocco. È un profumo che
non dura tantissimo, e anche questo secondo me è un lato positivo. Mi piace che
la bottiglia sia trasparente, in questo modo è semplicissimo tenere sotto
controllo la quantità di prodotto che abbiamo a disposizione: non dobbiamo
agitarla o metterla controluce. L’olio è ricco e nutriente, ne basta pochissimo
, ma allo stesso tempo non è untuoso e i capelli rimangono morbidi e voluminosi
dopo l’applicazione. Io lo uso sui capelli umidi, che divido in sezioni, e poi
lo massaggio dalle punte verso le radici. Mischiato all’olio di cocco e a
quello di jojoba o di ricino, fa parte dell’impacco di idratazione profonda che
faccio ogni due settimane. Una bottiglia mi dura a lungo, non è caro
considerando quanto poco se ne usa. Lo adoro!
Cosa non mi piace: è difficile trovare
difetti a questo prodotto, e infatti anche dopo averci pensato sono un po’ in
difficoltà! Credo che il profumo possa non piacere a tutti, perché quando
aprite la bottiglia è abbastanza intenso anche se, come ho detto, una volta
applicato non dura tantissimo. Se non
amate i profumi dolci e floreali sicuramente non lo troverete piacevole e so
che molte persone non sopportano di sentirsi addosso un odore che non amano,
anche per poco tempo.
Io ho la pelle grassa ma comunque uso oli per
il corpo, che non rimangono appiccicosi e si assorbono perfettamente; per i
capelli , che invece sono secchi, ho necessità di prodotti molto idratanti. Se
avete i capelli grassi forse l’olio ve li appesantisce troppo e preferite
orientarvi verso prodotti più leggeri.
Il mio verdetto: è un ottimo olio per
capelli, non grasso, molto nutriente, con un buon rapporto qualità prezzo.io
non ne posso fare a meno, e ve lo consiglio per mantenere i capelli morbidi,
sani e lucidi, soprattutto in estate, anche se io lo uso tutto l’anno.
