One product review : El Corazon nail polish

As you probably know by now I love trying new nail polish brands, and I never miss a chance to buy a couple when I’m abroad or when I find a new online shop! That’s exactly what’s happened with this brand, El Corazon: I had never heard about it till I found a great page that sells it , along with many others! I already posted my haul, today I’ll give you more details and I’ll share my experience with you as I’ve used them several times already!

I’ve purchased two nail polishes , the first one is from the New Dalmatians collection, Active Bio-gel nail polish 423/88 Mint Ice Cream & Chocolate and the second one is from the confetti collection, number 529a. this is how they’re  described:

 New Dalmatians collection, Active Bio-gel nail polish 423/88 Mint Ice Cream & Chocolate :El Corazon's bestselling product, Active Bio-gel is a nail treatment that looks, applies and removes like a regular nail polish, but at the same time helps to strengthen your nails and gradually improve their condition. It is easy to apply, requiring 2 thin coats to achieve streakless results. Active Bio-gel dries very quicky (fully dry in 15-20 min without using drying top coats) and lasts on your nails much longer than regular polishes. Price 5.50 € for 16 ml.

What I like: I fell in love with the shade, in my opinion is gorgeous and unique, classy and original at the same time! It’s a mint green base with tiny matte black glitters that makes it look exactly like mint and chocolate ice cream! Compared to most nail polishes , the bottle is a bit bigger so price is really low, and that was another reason why I decided to give it a try; I love the creamy texture and how easy it is to apply, and I haven’t been disappointed by the color, it’s exactly like it was on the online shop. It’s quite sheer and you need two or three coats for full coverage. You don’t have to dip the brush several times to get the right amount of glitters on, no struggle at all with this nail polish, glitters will go on your nails evenly without leaving bald spots! 

As for the confetti one, the texture is completely different: this one is a blue purple base full of multi color glitters and it’s close , when it comes to texture, to a sugar effect nail polish even though it’s not that rough or thick. It gives its best with a gel effect nail polish that seals it and makes it really shiny. 

What I don’t like: they’ve got a very strong smell, the typical nail polish smell that we’re not used to anymore as most of them have now gotten rid of that. It’s not nice and if you’re very sensitive to strong smells you might not be able to stand it. It goes away once it dries, and I can put up with it even though I’m not a fan.

The Dalmatians one, unfortunately, has completely disappointed in terms of lasting power: it chipped after one day! Not even essence polishes perform that bad on my nails, actually they last around three days and I consider it a good result for a low cost nail polish; I love the color but it doesn’t last at all, and I don’t think I’ll purchase more , not from this line for sure! The confetti one lasts 3-4 days, which isn’t too bad , so it might be an issue of the Dalmatians line only, but I’m not sure I feel adventurous enough to find out whether I’m right or wrong!

My verdict: I’m a bit torn, I can say I love the color and texture range , they offer unique polishes at an affordable price, but I don’t know if I purchase more of them because of the bad performance of one out of two; it’s such a pity it doesn’t last at all, I love the color more than the blue one ! I would buy more Confetti ones but I don’t know about other lines, if you own any El Corazon nail polish let me know what you think about it!

Come probabilmente sapete mi piace provare nuove marche di smalto, e non perdo mai l’occasione di comprarne di nuovi quando sono all’estero o quando trovo un nuovo negozio online ! questo è esattamente quello che è successo con questa marca, El Corazon : non ne avevo mai sentito parlare finchè non ho trovato una pagina fantastica che vende smalti di diverse marche! Ho da poco postato il mio haul, oggi vi parlerò di questa marca più nel dettaglio e vi dirò come mi trovo visto che li ho usati già parecchie volte!

Ho comprato due smalti , il primo è della collezione Dalmatians Active Bio-gel nail polish 423/88 Mint Ice Cream & Chocolate e il secondo è della collezione Confetti, numero 529/a.

Ecco come vengono descritti : Collezione New Dalmatians, Active Bio-gel nail polish 423/88 Mint Ice Cream & Chocolate :il prodotto più venduto di El Corazon's , active bio gel è un trattamento che ha l’aspetto, si applica e si rimuove come un normale smalto, e allo stesso tempo rinforza le unghie e le fa migliorare gradualmente. Si applica facilmente e per un risultato senza striature sono necessarie due o più passate . Active Bio-gel asciuga rapidamente, in 15-20 minuti è completamente asciutto ed ha una durata maggiore rispetto agli altri smalti. Prezzo 5.50 € per 16 ml.

Collezione confetti numero 529a : si ottiene il miglior risultato con due passate di smalto e il top coat. Quando si asciuga ha una consistenza ruvida, quind per renderlo lucido bisogna per forza applicare il top coat . Prezzo 5.50 € per 16 ml.

Cosa mi piace : mi sono innamorata del colore, secondo me è bellissimo e unico, raffinato ed originale allo stesso tempo! È una base verde menta con dei finissimi glitter opachi neri, che lo fanno sembrare gelato alla menta e cioccolato! Rispetto alla misura standard degli smalti, la bottiglia è più grande e contiene 16 ml di prodotto, quindi il prezzo è basso, e questo è stato uno dei motivi che mi ha convinto a provarlo. La consistenza è cremosa e lo smalto si stende molto facilmente, e il colore è esattamente quello delle foto sul sito, non sono rimasta delusa da questo punto di vista. Servono almeno due passate perché è piuttosto trasparente, tre passate sono ancora meglio per avere una coprenza ottimale. I glitter si distribuiscono uniformemente senza doverli cercare col pennello nella bottiglia, non dovete faticare e non ci saranno parti senza glitter!

Quello della linea confetti invece, ha una finitura del tutto diversa: la base è un blu viola con all’interno tantissimi glitter colorati, e proprio questi ultimi lo rendono simile ad uno smalto effetto sabbiato, anche se non è esattamente così ruvido. Se preferite una finitura lucida e uniforme è necessario applicare un top coat.

Cosa non mi piace: hanno un odore molto intenso, l’odore che avevano gli smalti anni fa e che adesso quasi tutte le marche hanno eliminato, tant’è che non siamo più abituati a sentirlo. È molto pungente e decisamente non piacevole, se siete sensibili agli odori forti potreste non riuscire a tollerarlo, anche se una volta che lo smalto è asciutto scompare. Io riesco a sopportarlo ma ne farei volentieri a meno!

Lo smalto della linea Dalmatians mi ha totalmente deluso in quanto a durata: si è sbeccato dopo un giorno! Neanche gli smalti essence durano così poco sulle mie unghie, anzi a dire il vero durano circa tre giorni, e lo considero un buon risultato per degli smalti low cost. Amo questo colore ma sono rimasta talmente delusa dalla qualità che non so se ne comprerò altri, sicuramente nessuno di questa linea! L’altro ha una durata di 3-4 giorni, ed è quello che mi aspettavo, quindi potrebbe essere un problema legato solo ai Dalmatians, ma al momento non sono così curiosa da volerlo scoprire!

Il mio verdetto: sono combattuta, posso dirvi che mi piacciono i colori , offrono smalti unici ad un prezzo abbordabile, ma non so se ne comprerò altri vista la pessima durata di uno dei due; sono veramente dispiaciuta che non duri, perché tra i due era il mio preferito! Forse potrei comprare un altro smalto della linea confetti, mentre preferirei leggere delle recensioni sulle altre linee prima di avventurarmi! Voi avete smalti di questa marca?
