in the last few months I’ve tried my first Lime Crime lipstick ,countessa fluorescent, and I liked it so much that I eventually bought a second one: I picked a true red shade, called Retrofuturist. As you all probably know, sometimes lipsticks’ texture might change a bit from one color to another, so let’s see if this is the case!

I’ve talked about Countessa Fluorescent here, I’m not going to repeat myself but I’m going to compare the two of them ; first let’s see how Lime Crime describes them: “Bold. Opaque. Recklessly loaded with pigment. For lips that speak louder than words. Vegan.”

Texture: Countessa Fluorescent goes on your lips very smoothly, it’s creamy but not too much: it doesn’t smudge at all, it’s like your lips capture it and it becomes like a second skin! It’s not streaky at all, with one coat you’ll get full coverage without any effort. Retrofuturist is smooth as well, but it’s a bit thinner and it’s prone to smudge out a bit if you don’t use a lip pencil before applying it; it’s not streaky and with one coat your lips will get perfect coverage and it feels as comfortable as the other one, it’s not drying at all.

Color: the first one, Countessa fluorescent, is a fuchsia with blue undertone that shows more depending on how light hits it, while retrofuturist is a rich, deep red, I would say it’s a diva red. It’s not dark, in fact it’s very bright , a strawberry red with a cool undertone. They’re both gorgeous and very pigmented and , in my opinion, must haves. It’s not easy to find a red like this one, bright but without orange undertone, so if you love red lipsticks you should try it! Same goes for the fuchsia, a unique and amazing color!

Lasting power: this is where I’ve noticed they differ the most: Countessa fluorescent is one of the long lasting lipsticks I’ve ever owned, once it’s set I can drink and eat and it doesn’t go away , it doesn’t fade, it stays true to its original color, it stays comfortable and it doesn’t feather : I actually love it! Retrofuturist on the other hand, doesn’t last as long : after drinking a coffee it’s still there but it loses a bit of its shine, and after eating it fades away quite a bit and it has to be reapplied. I think it’s because it’s thinner than Countessa Fluorescent and also a bit shinier, that’s why it doesn’t stay on as much. If I have to choose I’d go for Countessa Fluorescent because it’s got everything I look for in a lipstick while Retrofuturist has got some faults that stop me from putting it between my favorites, but it’s still a good lipstick especially when it comes to color: unique, bright and shiny!

Negli ultimi mesi ho finalmente avuto modo di provare il mio primo rossetto Lime Crime, nel colore Countessa Fluorescent, e mi è piaciuto talmente tanto che dopo poco ne ho comprato un altro, ed ho scelto Retrofuturist, un rosso molto intenso e classico. Come probabilmente saprete, a volte la resa dei rossetti cambia da colore a colore, ed oggi vedremo se succede anche con questi due!

Ho parlato nel dettaglio di Countessa Fluorescent qui, e siccome non voglio essere ripetitiva in questo post li metterò a confronto; prima di tutto però, vediamo come vengono descritti dalla Lime Crime: “intensi. Opachi. Super pigmentati. Per labbra che parlano più delle parole. Vegani.”

Consistenza: Countessa fluorescent si stende sulle labbra con molta facilità, è cremoso ma non eccessivamente: non sbava per niente, è come se le vostre labbra lo catturassero e si trasformasse in una seconda pelle! Non lascia striature, si ottiene un’ottima coprenza già con una sola passata. Anche Retrofuturist ha una consistenza morbida , ma è meno corposo e tende a sbaffare se non usate una matita labbra come base; non lascia striature e, come il primo, si ottiene un colore pieno con una sola passata, senza striature di alcun tipo. La formula è idratante e non secca le labbra.

Colore : Il primo, Countessa Fluorescent,  è un fucsia con sottotono blu che si nota di più o di meno a seconda di come viene colpito dalla luce, mentre Retrofuturist è un rosso pieno , vivace, lo definirei un rosso diva. Non è affatto cupo, secondo me ha un sottotono freddo ed ha anche un tocco di rosso fragola all’interno. Sono entrambi bellissimi e molto pigmentati e, a mio parere, da avere. Non è facile trovare un punto di rosso come questo, pigmentato, acceso ma non aranciato, quindi se amate i rossetti rossi vi consiglio di provarlo! Stesso discorso vale per il fucsia, che è unico e bellissimo!

Durata: qui ho trovato le maggiori differenze tra i due: Countessa Fluorescent è uno dei rossetti , tra tutti quelli che ho provato, che dura di più, una volta che si fissa sulle labbra potete bere e mangiare e non andrà via, non sbiadirà, il colore rimane fedele all’originale e non secca le labbra! Devo dire che lo adoro! Retrofuturist invece, non dura così a lungo: dopo aver bevuto è ancora al suo posto ma perde un po’ di brillantezza, dopo aver mangiato però la maggior parte se ne va e dovete riapplicarlo. Credo sia dovuto alla sua consistenza, diversa da Countessa Fluorescent, più sottile e meno corposa, e alla finitura più lucida. Se devo scegliere scelgo senza dubbio il Countessa Fluorescent perché ha tutte le caratteristiche che cerco in un rossetto, mentre Retrofuturist ha alcuni difetti che mi impediscono di metterlo tra i miei preferiti, anche se lo trovo comunque un buon rossetto con un colore particolare , unico e luminoso!
